Listen, eh. We are rule breakers. We break The Man’s rules and we break our own rules. In that spirit, this week’s episode is about Strange Brew, a movie from 1983. It’s a long story, and you’ll understand when you listen to it, you hoser.
*CW* See below.
We watched Canadian Bacon this week eh. As you may or may not know, Jen misses John Candy every day of her goddamn life, and this was his last released movie, which is too bad because his last released movie was this movie. But it has a great cast and you may come away from this experience feeling as we ended up feeling, that this movie is underrated.
We went from real silly to real serious in this one, and CW: We discuss suicide, grief and trauma at the end. You should also be warned that Micah butchers the Canadian National Anthem and we tell knock knock jokes and we understand that that will be offensive to some listeners.
We’re back! And so is Tom Cruise. Over and over and over. He doesn’t die in this movie, like 8 times or some shit. We watched Interview with the Vampire and made some very important realizations:
1) David Miscavige is a vampire
2) This might be Antonio Banderas at his worst
3) Jen is better than Micah at vampire accents
You’ll have to listen to find out how we got there. We finally finish answering a listener question about Jen’s academic experience in Montana and the transition to college. This episode also contains shoutouts to Bad Reception podcast and That’s Weird podcast.
Damnit. Well, here it is I guess. Ok, ok, there’s actually some good parts in here that you’ll want to listen to. Some wonderful listeners shared heartwarming and heartbreaking stories about prom experiences. Jen made Micah watch the first and last episodes of season 8, the final season, of Full House. You’ll have to listen next week to see if he’ll ever forgive her.
Jen jumps back into some Montana stuff this week based on some listener questions, specifically the transition from therapeutic boarding school to college, and from Kool-Aid drinker to reality.
Oh, and we also talked about Star Trek: Voyager and we sure did a bad job talking about space stuff. Watch out for quantum singularities and hop onboard!
Whatcha gonna do? You’re gonna join us for our episode on 1995’s Bad Boys, that’s what. We get deep into the real issues in this one, such as: Why *does* Michael Bay make movies? What *is* the right way to use the phrase “yada yada?” And *why* isn’t this movie funnier?
We haven’t talked about Montana for a couple weeks but we’ll get into some listener questions next week!

In 1994, Jen was sent to a “therapeutic boarding school” in The Middle of Nowhere, Montana. (She had some issues.) That meant a lot of things, but one is that Jen missed two full years of popular culture when she was 16-18 years old. Join Jen and her husband Micah and revisit your old faves as they travel back to the mid-90s to watch, listen to, and talk about what Jen missed.
Listen to our first episode to understand what this podcast is about and why we’re time traveling back to the mid-90s.
