46 Xena: Warrior Princess

December 3, 2018Podcast

Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala!

This episode of I Never Saw That was forged in the heat of Xena: Warrior Princess! We watched the pilot, and despite our better judgment, we’ll be watching more. Jen definitively solves several mysteries in this episode, such as:

  • How big was the budget of this show?
  • Is shart a verb or a noun?
  • Are cyclopses funny?

For the answers, and the details about a new contest, you’ll have to listen all the way to the end.

45 Strange Brew

November 26, 2018I Never Saw That, Podcast

Listen, eh. We are rule breakers. We break The Man’s rules and we break our own rules. In that spirit, this week’s episode is about Strange Brew, a movie from 1983. It’s a long story, and you’ll understand when you listen to it, you hoser.

44 Canadian Bacon

November 19, 2018I Never Saw That, Podcast

*CW* See below.

We watched Canadian Bacon this week eh. As you may or may not know, Jen misses John Candy every day of her goddamn life, and this was his last released movie, which is too bad because his last released movie was this movie. But it has a great cast and you may come away from this experience feeling as we ended up feeling, that this movie is underrated.

We went from real silly to real serious in this one, and CW: We discuss suicide, grief and trauma at the end. You should also be warned that Micah butchers the Canadian National Anthem and we tell knock knock jokes and we understand that that will be offensive to some listeners.

43 Interview with THE Vampire

November 12, 2018I Never Saw That, Podcast

We’re back! And so is Tom Cruise. Over and over and over. He doesn’t die in this movie, like 8 times or some shit. We watched Interview with the Vampire and made some very important realizations:

1) David Miscavige is a vampire

2) This might be Antonio Banderas at his worst

3) Jen is better than Micah at vampire accents

You’ll have to listen to find out how we got there. We finally finish answering a listener question about Jen’s academic experience in Montana and the transition to college. This episode also contains shoutouts to Bad Reception podcast and That’s Weird podcast.

42 Full House

October 30, 2018I Never Saw That, Podcast

Damnit. Well, here it is I guess. Ok, ok, there’s actually some good parts in here that you’ll want to listen to. Some wonderful listeners shared heartwarming and heartbreaking stories about prom experiences. Jen made Micah watch the first and last episodes of season 8, the final season, of Full House. You’ll have to listen next week to see if he’ll ever forgive her.

41 Star Trek: Voyager

October 22, 2018I Never Saw That, Podcast

Jen jumps back into some Montana stuff this week based on some listener questions, specifically the transition from therapeutic boarding school to college, and from Kool-Aid drinker to reality.

Oh, and we also talked about Star Trek: Voyager and we sure did a bad job talking about space stuff. Watch out for quantum singularities and hop onboard!

40 Bad Boys

October 15, 2018I Never Saw That, Podcast

Whatcha gonna do? You’re gonna join us for our episode on 1995’s Bad Boys, that’s what. We get deep into the real issues in this one, such as: Why *does* Michael Bay make movies? What *is* the right way to use the phrase “yada yada?” And *why* isn’t this movie funnier?

We haven’t talked about Montana for a couple weeks but we’ll get into some listener questions next week!

39 Weezer

October 8, 2018Podcast

We got to talk to our friends Diana and David about Weezer’s triple-platinum debut album: Weezer, or The Blue Album, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love — nevermind, that’s a lie. The world is a dumpster fire, but this album is really good and it was so much fun to talk to Diana and David about one of their favorite albums!

38 Ken Marino’s Elastic Pants

October 1, 2018Podcast

We interviewed Ken Marino! Seriously! And he was absolutely delightful. He was gracious and patient and funny and honest and curious and sincere and we can’t express how appreciative we are and how honored we are that we got to speak with him. Jen and Micah asked all the hard-hitting questions, didn’t hold anything back, and definitely didn’t gush over him at all. Plus, he took his pants off not once but TWICE within the first minute of our conversation, so.

Not only did we get the back story on The State, but we got to talk about his other work and even delved into topics such as parenting and politics. (In fact, we talked for so long that we had to cut some parts and those will be available to our patrons on Patreon!) AND because Ken is such a beautiful angel of a man, he expressed a genuine interest in Jen’s Montana story, so this is also a good Montana episode!
